Seven segment recipes worth stealing

Copy-paste segment rules for the audiences most lists contain but never see.

Segments are only useful when each implies an action. Seven that earn their keep, with the rule logic and the move:

1 · The unconverted core

  • Rules: engagement tier is active AND buyer is no
  • Move: they read everything and bought nothing — your offer, not your content, is the bottleneck. Interview five of them.

2 · Senior lurkers

  • Rules: seniority is founder/VP+ AND tier is casual
  • Move: high-value people, low engagement. Test a direction aimed at their altitude.

3 · The champions

  • Rules: tier is core AND buyer is yes
  • Move: lookalike seed, testimonial source, community founding members. Never let this segment go quiet.

4 · Work-address readers

  • Rules: email kind is work AND tier is active+
  • Move: your B2B beachhead — these people read you at their desk. Sponsor-deck material.

5 · The re-permission list

  • Rules: tier is dormant AND validation is valid
  • Move: one honest win-back send, then suppress non-responders. Deliverability thanks you.

6 · Industry pockets

  • Rules: industry is <your top industry> — check People for what's actually there
  • Move: niche issues, niche offers, or a dedicated community room.

7 · The high-LTV quiet ones

  • Rules: buyer is yes AND tier is casual or dormant
  • Move: they pay but don't read — the churn early-warning segment. Ask them what changed.

Run this on your own list.
