How connecting works
- 01Click "Connect HubSpot" from ListFunnel's Connections page.
- 02Sign in and authorize on HubSpot's own consent screen — ListFunnel never sees your HubSpot password.
- 03HubSpot redirects back with an access token, which ListFunnel encrypts (AES-GCM) before it ever touches the database.
- 04Your HubSpot connection shows as connected — subscriber sync activates from there.

Why this connection is scoped the way it is
ListFunnel requests exactly two read scopes from HubSpot — crm.objects.contacts.read and crm.lists.read — so it can see your contacts and list memberships without touching deals, tickets, or anything else in your portal. Access tokens are short-lived; ListFunnel renews them automatically with the refresh token HubSpot issues.
Questions people ask
What can ListFunnel see in my HubSpot account?
Only contacts and list membership — the crm.objects.contacts.read and crm.lists.read scopes don't grant access to deals, tickets, or marketing emails.
Do I need to reconnect HubSpot periodically?
No. Tokens expire in about 30 minutes, but ListFunnel silently refreshes them in the background using HubSpot's refresh token — you won't see a reconnect prompt.
